Breaking News: Peyton Manning to Sign with New England

Sources out of New England are saying that the New England Patriots are ready to make Peyton Manning their next quarterback. Little has been said about the tension and frustration between Tom Brady and ownership. Teammates have anonymously said that Brady has asked to be released and it looks like he will get his wish as soon as this weekend. Manning, who has played 14 years with Indianapolis and has won one Super Bowl, was let go by the Colts on Wednesday and has been making the rounds talking with many teams including Miami and Denver. Since Manning's release many teams have contacted his camp to express interest in his services including the Washington Redskins and the New York Jets.

The Patriots are looking for a quick fix to a bad situation. Tensions have been high between Brady and the organization since the 2009 season and have only escalated recently when Brady's wife, model Gisele Bundchen, told reporters that Brady couldn't throw and catch the ball too, saying that his teammates were to blame for the Patriots loss to the Giants in Indianapolis.

Manning is expected to be introduced as the new QB for the Patriots early next week once the final details of a contract can be ironed out. It is said to be a done deal and will include an incentive based contract with a small signing bonus up front. It's no surprise this has not been reported before today. Manning has always stayed far from the media spotlight in Indianapolis and Belichick is known for saying little. At first this would seem like an odd pairing because of the rivalry between Indianapolis and New England, but it will quickly be realized that this is a perfect match.
